Hospital Stay
Adelle's delivery went so well. We count ourselves very lucky for such a smooth fast delivery. I think the birth stories are pretty personal so I won't share to0 much. I woke up around 2:00 am and got to the hospital around 3:30 am and she was here by 5:00 am. It was so quick and a total different experience than with Archie. Archie was a 15 our slow and non painful delivery. This one was fast and very painful. I think I prefer the fast and painful.
I love the hospital stays. It is so relaxing and so helpful in the recovery process. I would order a strawberry milkshake with every meal. It was so yummy. The nurses were awesome and very supportive. The best part of all was spending some quiet one on one time with my sweet new baby girl. Archie was able to stay with his friends during the day and Drew would take him home at night. It all worked out perfectly.
Heaven

Archie was in heaven when he finally got to go out and play in the snow with Drew. He had a perma grin in the freezing temperatures. The snow has actually all melted now and we are all secretly hoping for more snow so we can have a couple more of these days around our house.
Drew worked hard on a little hill for the two of them to go down. It was a good start. Archie has now advanced to a bigger hill so once snow hits Wisconsin again we will be the first to be at the perfect hill for a little man to enjoy. I am so happy Drew is a kid at heart and enjoys these adventures just as much or more.

A + DELL + E
If you couldn't tell by now I love a name that has meaning. Archie is named after Drew's great Grandpa and so the family names continue. I need to start doing some research for future children names. There is no stopping now.
A= stands for my Grandma Arlene. My Mom's Mom.
Dell= stands for my Grandpa Dell. My Mom's Dad.
E= If we wanted to be really creative we could say E stands for my maiden name Esplin. The real reason we added the E was for the option of calling Adelle.... Elle. So far we have been calling her Adelle not Elle.
Just thought I would give a little background of our sweet baby girl. She is now two weeks and growing like a weed.

I Spy....
I spy with my little eyes Adelle enjoying a little snooze in her nursery. The nursery is finally done just in time to show it off to our little helpers coming into town today and next week. My Parents fly in today and Drew's Mom comes next week. I have slowly been working on her room and so glad to see it finally done.
Honestly, I only spent $30.00 on the entire nursery and it was spent on the roman shades. I followed this tutorial and it took time but super easy. I kind of feel bad that she gets all of Archie's hand me downs and anything I could find around the house that looked girly.
I made the chandelier last spring and had it in our front room on a lamp stand. It didn't look right in there so I was happy to get rid of old light fixture and hang this baby up. I am sure you have all seen the chandelier tutorial but if not here it is.
When we moved into this home the room was painted blue. Since the room was blue and we didn't want to repaint I tried to add pinks and oranges so it felt more like a baby girl.
She Stole The Show.....
Adelle kinda stole the show when it came to Drew's Birthday. I tried my best to make it special but it was my first day alone with two kids and I have some adjusting to do.
**Note to self start getting ready to get out of the house an hour before then what you are used to.
By the time 8:00 pm rolled around I was able to accomplish most everything I had planned for him. We were all a little tired by that time to really enjoy it. I promise I will do better next year Drew.
Happy 28th Birthday Drewby!

Adelle Mae Gubler

We are so excited to welcome the newest addition to our family. We are officially a family of four and gradually getting the hang of it. Everything went well and we are so blessed to have her here in our home.

Ready Or Not Here She Comes....

The time has come to have this baby and I am honestly a little sad about it. I am worried that my little man and I won't be as close anymore. Don't get me wrong I am so happy to have baby girl join our family in the next week.
I have really tried to take advantage these last couple days since Drew went back to work to spend time with my guy and let him know that I love him. He is going to be a big brother and I am not sure if he is ready. He is still so young. They will be 22 months apart and I just keep praying that we did the right thing having them so close together.
Ready or not here she comes and we couldn't be more excited.

One Year Later
BEFORE

AFTER

I finally finished my chairs that I started last January. It was a ton of work, but the end result paid off. I wasn't able to finish them in class so a couple friends of mine helped me or should I say finished them for me after many hours of slaving. My Mom was able to work her magic on the cushions. We were worried they wouldn't fit but I think they look awesome. I am so happy they are finished. Now I just need to find a spot for them.
Honestly, I don't think reupholstering is for me. It was a huge challenge and I am not confident in what I was doing. I think it would be much easier and the same price to find something I really like and purchase it or have it done by a professional. But in the end it was a great challenge for me and a proud moment to have these babies finished.

Christmas 2011

This year I was worried I would be a little homesick since we were staying in Milwaukee. It was such a nice relaxing Christmas with our little family. It was a perfect day. On Christmas Eve I slaved for half the day on Archie's Teepee. It was so fun to see his reaction when he saw it. The first thing he did when he walked in the room was squeal and run inside it. All of my hard work totally paid off.
Christmas is so much more fun when you have a little one around who gets so excited about everything. He did not disappoint our expectations. I wish I had more pictures to share but it was a major challenge getting the little guy to look at the camera.
