Smores

On Friday we decided to have a campout in our house. We have a fireplace in our living room. We made smores and watched Christmas movies all night long. The wood was wet so Drew couldn't get the fire as big as we hoped but it was perfect for roasting our smores. Drew played with the fire all night long. Our house smells like a campfire now the smell is slowly going away.

One more week and I will be in St. George! I can't wait to see everyone.

Thanksgiving Week

We had such a great Thanksgiving. It was a little stressful cooking the meal for the first time ever. I put Drew in charge of the Turkey and it was so moist and good. I was really impressed with his skills.

It was a difficult task trying to time everything so it was all warm at once. There were a couple things that got cold but it turned out fine.

We had so much fun with Jackie, Curtis and little Macie. Drew and I miss waking up to her saying Hi with a big smile. This week has been hard to get back into the groove without any company. We sure miss them and can't wait to see everyone at Christmas.

Update

I have been so bad at blogging lately. It is not that fun to take pictures anymore so that is why the blog is slacking a little. We have been very busy getting ready for this little guy and the Holidays.

Jersey Boys: Drew surprised me with tickets to Jersey Boys last weekend. He left me a little card that said we needed to have one last get-a-way before the baby. So he bought tickets for the show. We headed down to Chicago to spend the day. The show was awesome. The music was amazing. The only problem with the show was all the swearing. We love listening to the music all the time now.

Kohls: Drew loves working for Kohls. They are doing so well during these economic hard times. They are a great company and Drew is getting tons of experience that he wouldn't have been able to get anywhere else. He loves all the people he works with. He is in charge of all the inventory for the bath towels and rugs in the Kohls stores across the United States. When you are out Christmas shopping this year head on over to Kohls and grab some towels and rugs to support my honey.

The Baby: We love watching him move at night. We will just sit there for hours waiting for a little kick. He gave Drew a fist pump the other night. Drew is always talking to him and trying to feel the little guy. We had a little girls name all picked out. When we found out it was a boy we have been racking our brains and have yet to come up with anything. We know the middle name is Henry passed on from Drew.

The Nursery: I have been gathering things together for the Nursery. We are on a budget but I still want to make it special for the little guy. I have been rummaging and thrift store shopping ever since we found out we were having a baby. I have found several good buys and can't wait to share when it is all done.

Drew painted the nursery last weekend and it looks awesome. I just wanted something neutral so I didn't get sick of it. We chose pelican sand which is a brown tan color and it turned out perfect.

The Holidays: For Thanksgiving Drew's sister Jackie and her family are coming to our place. It is a 13 hour drive and I am praying it is good weather for them. It has actually been really good weather here these last couple of months. Two Saturdays ago it was 71 degrees. I can't wait for them to get out here. We are going to have a great time.

I can't wait for Christmas and to see my family. I was in St. George in August but haven't been back since. I can't wait! I am flying home on December 15th and will be there until January 5th. Drew will fly out a week later than me and go home a couple days earlier.

I saw some art on the Fawn and Forest website and thought to myself I can do that with my lousy illustrator skills. So last night I worked on these and I think they turned out really well. I framed them and can't wait to get them in the Nursery. The only cost was the frames that I got at Ikea for cheap. So instead of paying $85 dollars I made my own for $5.

* Nash is one of the 20 names we like so I was just messing around with it.

*This is the picture I copied the idea from. Wish I could take credit!

The Story

I had a feeling I was pregnant the beginning of July. We were getting ready to move into our new house and I had not taken a pregnancy test yet but just knew that I was. I wanted to tell Drew in a special way that he was going to be a Dad. I had an idea in mind but needed to be in the new house first. I waited a week until I told him and he still can't believe that I waited so long. We had just moved into the house and I wanted to be sure I was pregnant before I told him.

I ran to the store and took the test before he got home. I painted on our living room wall We are havin a baby! I made up some lame excuse why he needed to come through the front door. I video taped his reaction when he came through the door. He couldn't believe it at first and was in shock but had a smile the rest of the night.

My camera skills are a little shaky but I am glad I got at least something on video.

Dwight and Frankie

Sunday was the last day Emily and Quinn were with us. We were creative for our activities. We ate pumpkin waffles for breakfast and watched conference. During sessions we had a yummy BBQ. After that we took a Sunday drive and ended the night with pumpkin carvings. Drew was having a hard time with his Dwight pumpkin so he busted out his saw to make things go a little faster.

Times Three

We have now been to Chicago three times. Each time we see new things and learn new tricks about the Windy City. This trip was the funnest yet.

First stop was the Cubs game. Quinn got us tickets for a dollar a piece. After the game we took the train to Millennium Park. There are lots of cool architecture things and we had fun taking pictures with the mirror ball.

We strolled down the Magnificent Mile until we reached Gino's Pizza. You got to have the deep dish pizza when you are in Chicago. We kept walking the Mile until we hit The American Girl Place. The girls were in heaven. It was like we were 7 all over again. Drew officially decided he doesn't want a girl someday. You can spend way to much money on them.

Next to the American Girl Place there is a building called the John Hancock Building. If you ask to go to the 95th floor you get the same view as you do at Sears Tower but for free. It was an amazing view. The best view was in the girls bathroom. The dudes didn't get to enjoy it as much as us.

Do You Have To Go....

My parents left on Wednesday morning and our friends came Wednesday evening. Emily called two weeks ago and asked if we would like visitors. She talked to Lou about her visit and Lou decided to come as well. We had so much fun catching up and being together again.

The first day we gave them a tour of our home territory.
  • Holy Hill
  • Sprechers Brewery
  • Lake Front Drive
  • Downtown
  • The Safe House
I did not want these guys to go home. We had way to much fun to have it end. On Monday they left us and went back to their normal routine.

Love Them

My parents left today and I was super sad to see them go. We had such a good time the few days they were visiting. I wish I took more pictures, I have been slacking at getting my camera out lately. Yesterday we headed to Kohler where they have some of the nicest golf courses in the world. My Dad was on cloud nine and I actually enjoyed being there as well. I feel like we drove across the whole state while they were here. I loved the quality visits I was able to have with them. They loved it out here and can't wait to get back in the spring time. Hopefully the weather will be a little better next visit. It is getting cold here. What happened to Fall?

Goodbye Summer

We headed to the lake for our last lake trip of the year. Some of Drew's buddies from Kohls invited us along. It was a little chilly and cut short but so nice to get out and explore. The lakes here are so much different then what we are used to. I loved it! There are trees and homes surrounding it. I didn't get the best pictures but thought it was time to update. I finally found my camera cord. Hooray! Hopefully more pictures to come.

Oh How I Love Fall

It is starting to feel like Fall out here in Wisconsin. The mornings are crisp and the days are perfect. I have every window in the house open and enjoying the first taste of Fall while listening to Jack Johnson. Hopefully it stays like this for awhile.

My parents are coming out to visit in the next couple weeks and I can't wait. Drew will be working unfortunately but I have lots planned for their visit. Drew and I are going out tonight so maybe I will finally get some pictures of us. Things are going so well for us hope everyone else is doing good too.

Oh Soooo Good

Lately I have been making this Honey Wheat Bread and it is delicious. I thought I would share the goodness. I got this recipe from my sister Britter. She is the best cook ever!

Honey Wheat Bread

3 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
2 1/2 c. hot water

MIX

1/3 c. oil
1/2 c. honey
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. whole wheat flour

MIX

1 Tbs. yeast
2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour

MIX for 8 minutes

-cover and let rise 1 hour
-shape into loaves let rise until double
-bake at 350 30 - 35 minutes

I usually end up adding more flour and sometimes do half wheat half white flour so it is lighter. ENJOY the deliciousness!

Love You Miles

There is no messing around when it comes to celebrating little Miles. Brandi wanted to remember and celebrate his second birthday and I am so glad she did. It was the funnest party around. She did a Carnival and there was face painting, fishing, and lots of other carnival games. At the end of the party we all got together and sang Happy Birthday and let go of balloons.

This was such a great day and it was so nice to spend some time with family to remember our sweet Miles. I can't believe it has been a year this month since he has passed on. Love you Miles!

Sweet Surprise

It was a nice surprise to have not only Brandi and Tess visit but Elsha and Ava came out at the last minute. They were here for 5 days and it went by way to fast. We had lots of fun and kept busy busy.

On Wednesday we headed down to Chicago. We drove down and parked the car at Navy Pier. Once we got to the Pier we walked around and jumped on a boat taxi that took us through the city and dropped us off at our fist stop. The Magnificent Mile.

The favorite store on the Magnificent Mile was the American Girl Store. Tess was in heaven and it was a hard task getting her out of there without a $100 doll. After some shopping we headed to Gino's to get some Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. Ava loved it!

We wanted to go see the Sears Tower and we were to cheap to get a taxi so instead we walked for an hour and didn't go inside so Elsha had to take a picture to say we were there. On our way back to the car we took some more pictures of the pretty cityscape.

On Thursday we tried to hit up the State Fair but it took us an hour to find a parking spot. Finally we gave up and headed downtown Milwaukee to walk around and shop at the cute boutiques. I had to take a picture of Elsha in front of the boutique freckle face. So far Ava doesn't have freckles yet but we will see.

We all went back for a nap and Ava helped Drew water the lawn. You can finally see some pictures of our yellow home.

On Friday we went to Madison and saw the Capital and walked downtown. When we got home Drew had made us dinner my favorite BBQ. I miss them already and so glad they were able to come out and visit.

Counting The Days Till....

Brandi and Tessi come out to visit me! I get to see them in one week for a whole week and couldn't be happier. I keep putting off a job so I can spend every second with them when they get out here. Love you guys see you soon. The pictures of the gals at the beach. I just said bye to Brandi hence the red eyes. Her and I are ten years apart but still super close. I loved loved loved living close to her and her cute family the last 2 1/2 years. I miss these girls!

**So I have been missing from the blogging world lately. I am trying to stay motivated to keep this thing updated. Anyone else so over blogging??? I know some of you are waiting for pictures of our house and I will work on getting those ready. There is so much to do with the place and no money to spend. My Birthday money seems to be running really low. With visitors coming out maybe it will give me the extra boost to get the house ready.

Can't Wait

This hot couple is coming to visit us on Thursday. I can't wait for them to get here. We are going to have so much fun. We will be touring Milwaukee on Thursday and then heading to Chicago for the weekend. Love You Guys! See you in 4 days.

Today Is The Day

Today we are going to be moving to our next place. I know it is just a rental but I still am so excited. We have been in boxes for three months now so you kind of understand why I can't wait to move. Our cute neighbors had us over for dessert last night before we moved. It is crazy how we have only been in this house for a month and we are already close to our neighbors. They are a cute Greek 70 year old couple and we will miss them.

Proud To Be An American

Hope everyone has a great 4th of July. Yesterday we hit up the Summerfest and downtown fireworks. It was a busy day but we had lots of fun. I love America!
